Perhaps the most important thing to consider with this campaign is that an overnight success is not feasible. In order for you to optimize search engines organically, you need to use as many different forms of keywords as possible (thesaurus), create content that is appealing and will draw attention and you need to regularly refresh the content on your page(s). If your content does not sound interesting, why would someone read your article when they can go to a top dog website (i.e. technorati, techcrunch, etc) and get the same material? Use creativity with your titles and with your wording of the content. With regards to refreshing your content regularly, you will attract search engine crawlers and generally be rewarded a higher rank as a result. In addition to being creative with your content and posting regularly, linking to other sites and perfecting your navigation will be a big help too. A site that a user can interact with easily is key if you want to keep your readers content and get return visitors.
Besides that, keep in mind that these suggestions are my opinion(s) based on research and experience of my own with some of my other sites. To better optimize your SEO, read, visit reputable sites, create and refresh content as much as you can. And, be patient, it may take a little over a month but you will be proud of the masterpiece that you perfected once it is optimized.
